U.S. stocks closed mixed, with the Federal Reserve keeping its benchmark interest rate unchanged, with the Dow down more than 1 percent, the Nasdaq closing up 0.67 percent and the S.P. 500 down 0.53 percent. The energy, aviation and banking sectors dragged the Dow lower, with Boeing down more than 6 percent, United Continental down 11 percent, Exxon Mobil down more than 5 percent and Wells Fargo down more than 8 percent. Among U.S. technology stocks, Tesla closed up nearly 9 percent with a market capitalization of $190.1 billion, making it the world’s largest auto maker by market capitalisation. Microsoft, Apple and Amazon hit record highs. China’s general stock stocks generally rushed back, Jiayin Gold Branch closed up 96%, stable financial closed up 170%, housing more than down more than 66%.
