Ford’s autonomous taxi, robotaxi, will be delayed until 2022
The novel coronavirus is now on sale in April 29th. Ford Motor Co announced today that its automatic driving service robotaxi will be postponed to 2022 due to the economic impact of the new coronavirus pandemic.
Ford said in a statement that it would use the extra time to study “changes in customer behavior and reassess its listing strategy to meet new consumer needs.”. Ford also said it would stick to introducing Mustang mach-e and a new version of Bronco later this year.
The company has been testing autonomous prototypes in Miami, Austin and Washington for the past few years to launch these services, but has yet to announce in which markets it plans to operate.
