GitHub CEO 纳特·弗里德曼（Nat Friedman）发布博文称，拥有 130 万个软件包、每月下载量达 750 亿的 NPM 是「世界上最大的开发者生态系统」。弗里德曼承诺，NPM 服务将「永远可用，并永远免费」。他表示，一旦收购完成，则将专注于以下三个主要领域：

Friedman promised that NPM services would be “always available and free”. He said that once the acquisition is completed, it will focus on the following three main areas: Invest in registered infrastructure and platforms. JavaScript ecosystem is large in scale and growing rapidly. After the completion of the acquisition, the company will make necessary investments to ensure the fast, reliable and scalable NPM.
