Ingwest, March 31 (Reuters) - facebook on Monday pledged $100 million in financing and advertising to support news organizations affected by the new coronavirus, including local publishers in the United States, according to Reuters.
Due to the uncertainty related to the virus, many advertisers have cut marketing budgets to control costs, and the press and publishing industry, especially the print media, has been hit first. Facebook’s contributions include $25 million in emergency funding for local media and $75 million in marketing spending for global news organizations. Facebook said the first round of funding went to 50 local news media in the United States and Canada.
